Exercise Tips During Ramadan

During Ramadan, it's important to maintain your physical health while fasting. Caring for you body & health is an ibadah, so you will be rewarded by Allah if you make the right intention. Here are some exercise tips to keep going during Ramadan.

1. Timing:
Schedule your workouts either before suhoor (pre-dawn meal) or after iftar (breaking the fast). This allows you to hydrate and fuel your body properly.

2. Moderation:
Opt for moderate-intensity exercises such as walking, yoga, or light cardio to avoid excessive fatigue during fasting hours.

3. Hydration:
Drink plenty of water during non-fasting hours to stay hydrated. Coconut water and electrolyte-rich drinks can also help replenish fluids lost during fasting.

4. Meal Planning:
Consume balanced meals during suhoor and iftar to provide sustained energy for workouts. Include complex carbohydrates, lean proteins, and healthy fats.

5. Listen to Your Body:
Pay attention to how your body feels during exercise. If you're feeling weak or dizzy, it's best to stop and rest.

6. Shorter Workouts:
Consider shorter, more frequent workouts rather than long, strenuous sessions to accommodate the fasting schedule.

7. Stretching:
Incorporate stretching exercises before and after workouts to improve flexibility and prevent muscle stiffness.

8. Avoid Overexertion:
Don't push yourself too hard, especially during fasting hours. Respect your body's limitations and adjust the intensity of your workouts accordingly.

9. Consult a Professional:
If you have any medical concerns or conditions, consult with a healthcare professional or a certified fitness trainer before starting a new exercise routine during Ramadan.

Remember, the primary focus during Ramadan is spiritual reflection and fasting, so it's essential to prioritize your health and well-being while incorporating exercise into your routine.
